Real Madrid are all set to begin preparations for the 2025-26 season on Monday, August 4.

It is to be noted that the squad is returning just 24 days after their heavy 4-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-final.

With only 15 days left before their La Liga opener against Osasuna, the club has put together a tight pre-season schedule to get the players back into top form.

Real Madrid’s schedule

As per reports from Mundo Deportivo, the day will start with the usual medical tests for the first-team players in the morning.

Later in the evening, at 6:00 p.m. CEST, the team will hold its first official training session at Valdebebas Sports City. This marks the beginning of a short but intense preparation phase for the new campaign.

One of the most notable aspects of Monday’s session will be the introduction of new signing Alvaro Carreras.

The Spanish left-back, who joined from Benfica, is currently the club’s only new signing since the Club World Cup.

His arrival is seen as a key move to strengthen the left side of defence. Carreras will waste no time and is expected to take part in the first training session with his new teammates.

What about Franco Mastantuono?

Meanwhile, Argentine wonderkid Franco Mastantuono, who landed in Madrid on Saturday, will not be taking part in training just yet.

The 17-year-old has to wait until August 14 to officially join the first team, once he turns 18. His potential debut is eagerly anticipated by fans and staff alike, but the rules around age eligibility mean he’ll be on the sidelines for now.

Real Madrid’s first match of the new season is scheduled for August 19, when they face Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu.

With limited time to prepare, the coming days will be crucial for both returning stars and new faces to make their mark.
