The powers that be at Real Madrid have on Monday won out, in their efforts to alter the plans for the club’s La Liga trophy presentation.

Los Blancos are of course fresh off clinching a record 36th Spanish top-flight crown over the weekend.

The plan laid out by the RFEF, as a result, centered around Carlo Ancelotti’s squad lifting the trophy after their next league outing, at Granada this coming Saturday.

Word was forthcoming this afternoon, however, that Florentino Pérez and co. had rejected such a scenario.

Out of respect for their upcoming opponents, who find themselves in the thick of the La Liga relegation battle at present, it was deemed as ‘inappropriate’ to kick into gear a joyous celebratory event.

The Real Madrid brass, in turn, requested that their title presentation be pushed back.

And, as alluded to above, on Monday evening, the capital giants’ request has been granted.

As per a report from Marca, the RFEF have agreed to hand the La Liga trophy over to Ancelotti and co. on Tuesday, May 14th, following Real’s meeting with Alavés.
