Bayer Leverkusen want Brahim Diaz as Wirtz replacement

With Wirtz set to depart, Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz has emerged as a priority target for Bayer Leverkusen to replace the German, reports Fichajes.

The Bundesliga champions are looking to reinforce their attack, and the Moroccan international has impressed with his performances during the latter part of the season under Carlo Ancelotti.

At Real Madrid, Brahim’s development and versatility in attacking roles are highly valued. His speed, technical ability, and commitment have made him a crucial asset off the bench, particularly when injuries forced Ancelotti to rotate.

Despite his growth, competition in the squad limits his minutes in the starting eleven. As such, Leverkusen’s interest has sparked internal discussions at Real Madrid.

While the club has no current intention of parting ways with Brahim, the financial terms presented by the German side could lead to a reconsideration.

Leverkusen will also provide an appealing sporting project where Brahim could enjoy a more central role – an aspect that may influence the player if he feels sidelined at Madrid, especially with Franco Mastantuono also arriving this summer.

With Wirtz’s exit close to completion, Leverkusen have accelerated their pursuit of Diaz. The transfer is not expected to be straightforward, but at Valdebebas, there is awareness that a high enough bid could open the door to negotiations.
