Rodrygo may not be at the level of Vinicius Jr. or Kylian Mbappe in terms of goals and assists, but his importance in the Real Madrid setup cannot be understated.
The Brazilian winger, who has been asked to accommodate from his very first day at the club, has not had it easy from a tactical standpoint, regularly changing the position he operates on the field. However, he has always managed to come good when it matters most.
In fact, the management believes that it is no coincidence that he was injured and unavailable for both of the team’s defeats this season – against Barcelona and Lille.
As revealed by Jorge C Picon (H/t RM4Arab), Rodrygo is close to a complete recovery from the biceps femoris muscle injury he suffered against Borussia Dortmund and is likely to return in time for Real Madrid’s next league game against Osasuna.

Interestingly, although he dreams of making it back in time to play against AC Milan and is working hard to make it possible, it is highly unlikely that he will play against the Italian side.
Rodrygo was largely linked with a departure from the club as Kylian Mbappe’s arrival appeared to be the final nail in the coffin for him.
However, the youngster made the most of his chances under Carlo Ancelotti and has three goals and an assist to his name in La Liga.
Another reason why the management sees his return to be crucial is from a tactical standpoint. Rodrygo is the only member of Real Madrid’s trident who contributes defensively and in the team’s pressure off the ball.
His presence on the field, thus, brings stability, especially with Vinicius and Mbappe both not contributing in that sense.
