Real Madrid youngster Raúl Asencio is set to feature from the off in the club’s upcoming Champions League showdown with Liverpool.
That’s according to Radio MARCA, who have provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at Valdebebas.
The name of defender Asencio has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last couple of days.
This comes after the 21-year-old shone after being afforded his first-ever appearance for Real Madrid at senior level.
Introduced during the first-half en route to a 4-0 La Liga downing of Osasuna, Asencio impressed on both sides of the ball, even laying on a pinpoint assist for Jude Bellingham.
Amid an injury crisis at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s defence at present, the Spaniard, in turn, has this week been tipped for an extended run of appearances in Blancos colours.
As revealed by Radio MARCA, the plan of the Real coaching staff at present is to afford Asencio a starting berth in both of the club’s upcoming fixtures against Leganés, and Liverpool.
