Real Madrid are in a state of euphoria after what has been a hugely successful week for them.

After winning the La Liga title, the Merengues qualified for the finals of the UEFA Champions League last night by beating Bayern Munich.

Having already lifted the Spanish Super Cup as captain of Real Madrid, Nacho Fernandez will receive the La Liga title this weekend and has a chance to get his hands on the UCL trophy as well.

The 34-year-old defender’s contract with the Spanish capital club expires at the end of the season and it has been reported that he will be leaving in the summer.

However, given the success that the team is achieving, there may have been a temptation to reconsider his decision.

Nacho remains fixed on leaving

But, that is not the case with Nacho as Fabrizio Romano reports that the defender’s plan remains to leave Real Madrid as a free agent this summer.

The veteran Spaniard has spent his entire career at Real Madrid, having started at the club’s academy over two years ago.

A club man through and through, Nacho does not plan on continuing at the Santiago Bernabeu and plans to call time on his career at the club on a high.

No plans to stay in Europe

Furthermore, the report from Fabrizio Romano adds that Nacho does not plan on staying in Europe even though Inter Milan are interested.

Instead, the defender’s idea is to move either to the MLS in the United States of America or the Saudi Arabian League, where former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo plies his trade.

What is certain is that Nacho does not plan on changing his mind about the decision to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
