In two weeks’ time, Real Madrid will begin their FIFA Club World Cup campaign in the USA under new manager Xabi Alonso.
Heading into the tournament, Los Blancos have made two new signings in the form of Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold and are working on more transfers.
At the same time, Alonso is waiting on some of his injured players to make a comeback. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are expected to make it back but Endrick and Eduardo Camavinga are unlikely to be avaialble.
Furthermore, The Athletic now reports that both Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are expected to unavailable for the start of the FIFA Club World Cup later this month.
Rudiger opted to undergo surgery on his knee after having played through pain for the majority of the season given the lack of defensive options at former manager Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal.

The German international is fully focused on recovering in time for the Club World Cup but as things stand he is unlikely to make it in time for the start of the tournament.
As for Alaba, he too had to undergo surgery after suffering a tear in the meniscus of his left knee, months after having returned from an ACL injury.
Initial expectations were that Alaba could return in time for the Club World Cup but at the moment his return for the start of the competition appears unlikely.
It would leave Alonso with new signing Dean Huijsen and Raul Asencio as the fully fit options at centre-back for the beginning of the Club World Cup.
The manager does plan to take youngsters like Jacobo Ramon and Diego Aguado for the tournament and they may get chances, depending on how fit Militao is after spending almost ten months out.
