A headline member of the attacking ranks at Real Madrid on Saturday climbed into joint-top spot in the Pichichi standings.
Real, of course, marked their return to action late last night.
Amid ongoing efforts to hunt down arch rivals Barcelona atop the La Liga table, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops welcomed Espanyol to the Spanish capital.
And, despite a scare early in the 2nd-half upon Espanyol taking the lead, Los Blancos, in the end, romped to a dominant 4-1 triumph.
Rounding out the goals on the night was summer signing Kylian Mbappé, who stepped up to slot home from the penalty spot with 90 minutes on the clock.
And, in the process, the Frenchman took a jump up the Pichichi standings.
Mbappé, for his part, has now found the net on four occasions across the La Liga season to date, the same number as joint-top scorer Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona.
