A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this week been released from international duty.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Andriy Lunin as the player in question.
Shot-stopper Lunin was for his part called up by Ukraine last month.
This comes ahead of an upcoming World Cup qualifying double-header against France and Azerbaijan over the next week.
As alluded to above, however, just days out from the former fixture, the 26-year-old has been sent back to Madrid.
Lunin, it is understood, suffered a lower back problem during the warm-ups for Real’s La Liga meeting with RCD Mallorca this past weekend.
And the goalkeeper, evidently, is yet to recover from as much.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Marca that Lunin was today released by the Ukrainian national team staff, ahead of undergoing treatment back at Valdebebas over the days ahead.
