Members of the backroom staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid have been left taken aback by the efforts of one of the club’s stars over recent weeks.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards David Alaba as the player in question.

Defender Alaba is for his part of course fresh off his long-awaited return to the pitch.

After over a year on the sidelines recovering from an ACL injury, the Austrian marked his comeback on January 19th, managing 15 minutes in a La Liga meeting with Las Palmas.

This was followed by a further half hour against RB Salzburg, and 25 minutes over the weekend, as Real Madrid made short work of Real Valladolid.

Alaba, across these outings, has not missed a step, looking remarkably sharp for a player fresh off such an extended absence.

And, safe to say, the significance of as much has not been at all lost on those behind the scenes in Spain’s capital…

As per a report from Relevo, the Blancos coaching staff and senior officials alike have been left surprised and amazed by the progress being made by the veteran stopper.

They already consider that Alaba has ‘returned better than Éder Militão’, therefore hopeful of the 32-year-old playing a prominent role over the 2nd half of the campaign.
