Real Madrid have announced the signing of Franco Mastantuono with the Argentine's official introduction coinciding with his 18th birthday.

The former River Plate player, who will wear the number 30 shirt for Los Blancos, has signed a contract to keep him at the club for the next six seasons (until 2031) and cost approximately €45 million.

In his first words wearing the new shirt, Mastantuono did not hide his pride in taking this step in his career.

"It's a very special day for me. It's a dream come true as a footballer and as a person, to join a club like Real Madrid, the biggest in the world," the teenager said.

"I'm thrilled, and I want to share that joy with you because this will be a day I will remember forever. Thank you to the people back in Argentina, they are the ones who have got me here. I still have a lot to learn, but those values have been instilled in me by those closest to me."

Club President Florentino Pérez had high praise for the young player: "Today is another of those great days, full of emotion for all of us who feel a passion for Real Madrid, because today, one of the greatest footballing talents to emerge in recent years is joining our club. Today, we are welcoming Franco Mastantuono."

A product of River's youth system, the winger made his first-team debut in 2024 and earned his first senior international cap this summer.
