Real Madrid are prepared to sign a new centre-back this summer to replace outgoing captain Nacho Fernandez, but they will only do so at the right price. Their top target is Leny Yoro, the 18-year-old Lille star that is already considered to be one of the best young central defenders in the world.

Los Blancos would like to sign Yoro this summer, especially if he is available on a cut-price deal (his contract at Lille runs out in 2025). However, the Ligue 1 side are demanding €60m for a sale to take place immediately, as reported by Marca.

This asking price is far above what Real Madrid would be prepared to pay this summer, especially given that Yoro could be available on a free in 2025. As such, they have shelved the idea of signing him for the time being.

If Yoro does not arrive this summer, Real Madrid are expected to have Rafa Marin as their fourth-choice centre-back for next season. The youngster has had a good loan spell at Alaves, and he is now seen as ready to make the step up to Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
