Over the past few days, there has been a lot of chatter about Saudi Arabia’s strong interest in signing Real Madrid megastar Vinicius Jr.
Al Ahli from the Saudi Pro League are said to be preparing a world-record bid worth €350 million for the 24-year-old Brazilian winger while offering him a bumper contract offer.
Real Madrid, though, are not perturbed by the situation as their intention is not let go of their ace forward.
In fact, SPORT now reports that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has firmly rejected any negotiations regarding the transfer of Vinicius, who is contracted until 2027, insisting that only the player’s release clause of €1 billion will be considered.

Perez refers to Vinicius’ €1 billion release clause and the contract that binds the player to Madrid until June 2027 to his suitors.
Vinicius himself has made it clear that he intends to continue making history with Los Blancos, distancing himself from rumours that he might yield to the lucrative offer on the table, which would reportedly see him earn €1 billion over five years.
The critical moment regarding Vinicius’ future will come next summer. Both the club and the player’s camp have indicated that this will be the time to sit down and negotiate an extension.
Perez hopes to tie him down for at least another two years, through to 2029. But Real Madrid will never match the financial terms offered by Saudi Arabia, leading to some uncertainty over the situation.
For now, though, the stance from the Real Madrid president is clear – any suitor will have to activate the €1 billion release clause. Doors for negotiations are closed.
