Both frontman Rodrygo and midfielder Valverde are fresh off significant travels over the international break.

The former linked up with the Brazil squad for a pair of World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru, whilst Valverde also made the trip to South America, for Uruguay’s fixtures against Peru and Ecuador.

With their respective 2nd outings having only played out on Wednesday, Rodrygo and Valverde, in turn, touched down back in Madrid yesterday morning.

And, speaking during his pre-match press conference ahead of Real’s La Liga meeting with Celta Vigo on Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti admitted that, owing to as much, neither has yet been passed fit to start:

“Rodrygo and Valverde arrived yesterday and we have to evaluate them with the doctors. We will decide what to do tomorrow. All the others are fine.”
