La Liga giants Real Madrid have missed on the signing of an up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at Chelsea.
This comes amid confirmation that Josh Acheampong has at last committed his long-term future to the Blues.
Acheampong’s name has long proven a prominent one in the transfer headlines across the continent.
This comes after the 18-year-old’s insistence on dragging his feet over renewing the terms of his contract with Chelsea culminated in Acheampong being banished from first-team and reserve team duties alike.
A number of leading European clubs, in turn, quickly made their interest in his signing known, with the aforementioned Real Madrid at the front of the queue.
As alluded to above, however, this week, any and all parties keen on Acheampong’s services have been dealt a decisive blow.
As per a statement across Chelsea’s website and social media platforms, the club’s defensive starlet has put pen to paper on a new deal, through the summer of 2029.
