Real Madrid and Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Inter Milan star defender Alessandro Bastoni.
As we reported yesterday, Inter’s sporting director Piero Ausilio had a busy midweek, attending two Champions League fixtures.
The 52-year-old landed in Barcelona on Tuesday to watch the Blaugrana’s clash against Paris Saint-Germain. He then headed to Manchester which saw the Cityzens eliminated at the hands of Real Madrid.
During his tour, Ausilio took the opportunity to discuss with his colleagues and explore market opportunities.
According to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, the talks could have also included Bastoni.
The Italy international has now become one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe due to his exploits at San Siro.
The Turin-based newspaper claims Man City boss Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the 24-year-old. The same goes for Carlo Ancelotti who would like to bring his compatriot to the Spanish capital.
As for the Nerazzurri, they don’t consider any of their players untouchables due to their budgetary status. In other words, every man has a price, with club captain Lautaro Martinez being the only possible exception.
However, Inter wouldn’t deprive themselves of Bastoni unless they receive a truly lucrative bid. The source claims the Serie A leaders won’t accept an offer lower than 80 million euros.
The same goes for Marcus Thuram who is reportedly a transfer target for PSG.
The Ligue 1 champions will bid Kylian Mbappé farewell at the end of the season. Thus, they are searching the market for a replacement, identifying Thuram as a suitable profile.
The Frenchman signed for the Nerazzurri last summer on a free transfer after seeing out his deal with Borussia Monchengladbach.
Therefore, Inter would register a major windfall if they were to sell the 26-year-old this summer.
