Real Madrid make Arsenal’s William Saliba priority target | OneFootball

Real Madrid have made Arsenal centre-back William Saliba (23) their priority target for the summer, as per a report from RMC Sport.

The Frenchman has impressed at the Emirates Stadium since making his return from a loan spell at Olympique de Marseille, seamlessly slotting into Mikel Arteta’s side and putting in a level of consistency that has seen him included in the Premier League TOTS for two consecutive seasons.

Naturally, the France international’s performances have caught the eye of one of Europe’s biggest clubs – Real Madrid. According to RMC Sport, the reigning European champions have identified Saliba as their priority target in defence. Obtaining him, however, may prove difficult.

Arsenal do not want to part ways with the Frenchman, who is a pillar of their defence. Considering him the best central defender in world football, the Premier League side are set to slap him with a price tag to ward off Real Madrid. However, if he were to leave, which is not foreseen, then Saliba would likely become the most expensive defender in history.
