According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are considering Trent-Alexander Arnold as their ‘first’ target in the coming summer.

This implies that the club would prioritise the signing of the Liverpool defender, whose contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season.

This would hardly come as a surprise to most, as Real Madrid are running out of options in the right-back department.

The potential addition of Alexander-Arnold, to that end, could serve as a breath of fresh air for Real Madrid.

The Englishman is an established star, who is regarded as one of the best in the business. Given his age profile and talent, he could indeed become an excellent long-term investment for the club.

Another factor that makes Alexander-Arnold an ideal option for Real Madrid is the fact that the Englishman could be available on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

The prospect of signing one of the best right-backs in the world on a free transfer, therefore, is something Real Madrid simply cannot seem to miss out on.
