Star striker hobbled off during 3-2 win over Alaves
Kylian Mbappe is reportedly set to be sidelined for around three weeks after Real Madrid confirmed their star man has suffered a thigh injury.
Mbappe was taken off during Real’s 3-2 victory over Alaves on Tuesday.
Real coach Carlo Ancelotti played down the situation after the game, describing it as a “knock” and that Mbappe “asked to be substituted to avoid any problems”.
However, the La Liga club confirmed Mbappe had suffered an injury on Wednesday.
A club statement read: "Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappe by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.”

Mbappe has been in fine form for his new side following his blockbuster transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, scoring seven goals in nine games.
However, Real will now take on local rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday without the 25-year-old.
Mbappe’s injury is reportedly expected to rule him out for three weeks, which would also see him miss games against Lille in the Champions League and Villareal in La Liga - as well as international duty for France.
Real go into their derby with Atletico sitting in second in La Liga, a point behind Barcelona who have a game in hand.
Atletico are fourth - five points behind Real - but can cut that deficit if they beat Celta Vigo on Thursday.
