According to a report by Jose Felix Diaz in MARCA, Real Madrid and Alphonso Davies appear to have reached a preliminary agreement, but its execution hinges on several factors.
Most importantly, it depends on Davies’ decision and his ability to withstand any pressure Bayern Munich might apply to retain him.
Interestingly, while this agreement seems promising, it is not an urgent matter for Real Madrid to act on at the moment.
Real Madrid have been closely analysing potential opportunities in the January transfer window. The club’s interest in the market is driven by a clear objective: to strengthen the squad where it is needed most.
Unlike in recent years, when Real Madrid have been conservative during this period, there is now a solid plan in place to pursue a move that aligns with their strategy.

The intent is not to engage in random signings but to focus on operations that can deliver immediate benefits to the team.
As expected, among the key names being considered, Davies stands out as a top option. Discussions around the Canadian defender have been ongoing for some time, with Real Madrid monitoring the situation closely.
While there have been fluctuations in his availability, the agreement in principle signals the club’s strong interest.
Yet, there is no urgency to finalise the deal immediately. The decision rests heavily on Davies, particularly as Bayern Munich reportedly remain keen on securing his renewal.
At present, Davies seems to prioritise extending his stay with Bayern Munich. However, Real Madrid’s offer remains a viable alternative.
The situation is far from settled, leaving the player in control of his future. Whether he chooses to embrace a new challenge in Madrid or continues at Bayern will likely shape the next phase of his career.
