Real Madrid’s dominance in the UEFA Champions League was given a stern reality check as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal last night.
It was not the best of performances from Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who were already coming on the back of a defeat to Valencia and a growing injury list.
To that end, Real Madrid have now been given yet another injury scare as two key players picked up fresh knocks during the game against Arsenal.
According to The Athletic, Federico Valverde and David Alaba are the two players in questions to have picked up a knock against Arsenal.
However, journalist Guillermo Rai confirms that their knocks are not believed to be serious, though the players are suffering from discomfort.
Both these players started out as fullbacks against Arsenal, with Ancelotti taking a major gamble with Alaba, who was subbed off later in the game.

Rai adds that Real Madrid duo are expected to undergo more tests soon to ascertain the extend of these knocks.
The Spanish giants, after all, have a gruelling schedule ahead and desperately require the availability of at least Valverde, if not both, in the weeks to come.
After back to back defeats to Valencia and Arsenal, Real Madrid’s next assignment is against Alaves on Sunday – a must-win game for Ancelotti if his team is to remain in the title race.
On a positive note, Real Madrid do have quite a few days to prepare for the Alaves, which in turn, should give the likes of Alaba and Valverde more time to recover from their knocks and become available for action.
