According to journalist Rudy Galetti (h/t AS), it has been learned that AC Milan are exploring options to replace Theo Hernandez, who recently left the club to join Al-Hilal, and one of the names on their radar is Real Madrid’s Fran Garcia.
The Spanish left-back had a solid performance at the recent Club World Cup, but his future at Real Madrid is currently uncertain.
The main reason is the arrival of Alvaro Carreras, who is now expected to become Xabi Alonso’s first-choice option on the left side of defence.
With Carreras about to be officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player, the competition in this position is heating up.
With Carreras set to join the squad, Real Madrid will soon have three natural left-backs:, namely, Carreras, Garcia, and Ferland Mendy.

Given this situation, it is likely that one of Garcia or Mendy will leave the club this summer to reduce the logjam in defence. While Mendy is thought to be the casualty, Real Madrid might consider if Milan come up with a worthy offer.
For Garcia, the interest from AC Milan could open the door for a move to Serie A. While there are currently no official talks between the two clubs, Milan are closely monitoring his situation.
The Italian side needs a replacement for Theo Hernandez, and Garcia’s profile fits what they’re looking for – young, fast, and already experienced at the top level.
Real Madrid, however, are in no rush. The club values Garcia but understands the need to manage the squad properly, especially after bringing in Carreras for close to €50 million.
Whether Garcia stays to fight for his place or chooses a new challenge will depend on the coming weeks. For now, AC Milan remain one of the key clubs watching his next move closely.
