Real Madrid could pay a fee in the region of £850,000 [€1m] to buy Trent Alexander-Arnold out of his Liverpool contract early, reports suggest.
The full-back has confirmed that he will leave Liverpool when his contract expires on June 30, and his next club is widely understood to be Real Madrid.
Los Blancos will compete in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, which gets underway a little over two weeks before Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool contract expires. Real Madrid are keen for the England international to join up with the squad for the tournament in the United States, though, and have reportedly approached Liverpool to negotiate a deal.
As reported by BBC Sport on Tuesday, the offered fee is expected to be in the region of £850,000 [€1m]. Real Madrid could alternatively pay Alexander-Arnold’s remaining wages.
FIFA have implemented a short transfer window ahead of the Club World Cup, meaning that Real Madrid would be able to register Alexander-Arnold between June 1-10 if they were able to strike a deal with Liverpool.
