Real Madrid are set to resume their UEFA Champions League campaign as they take on RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
Languishing in 24th place, the reigning European champions must seize all three points at all costs, if they are to avoid any surprises.
That being said, coach Carlo Ancelotti’s problems with a lack of depth has only compounded as the season progressed.
In fact, the Italian has a decision to make in the right-back position as Real Madrid approach the Salzburg game.
Lucas Vazquez has been ruled out after picking up his third continental yellow card of the season against Atalanta.
He joins Dani Carvajal in the list of absentees at right-back, while Aurelien Tchouameni is also a doubt after missing the last game.
With Ancelotti devoid of options at right-back, the Italian may opt for Raul Asencio on Wednesday, reports Mario Cortegana.

The Real Madrid defensive prodigy, who has fallen behind Tchouameni in the pecking order, has trained in the right-back position this season.
And it appears he will have an opportunity to prove himself as Real Madrid take on Salzburg this midweek.
Ancelotti has one other alternative in the form of Federico Valverde. But the Uruguayan international is likely to be considered only as a last resort option.
Ancelotti, after all, will want to see if Asencio rises to the occasion when given the opportunity.
Despite being a centre-back by trade, Real Madrid are expecting Raul Asencio to become available and ready whenever the team requires.
Wednesday’s game against Salzburg, therefore, could be an exciting opportunity for the young defender.
