Real Madrid boss Ancelotti provides Federico Valverde injury update | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has provided an update on the wellbeing of midfield star Federico Valverde.

The name of Uruguayan international Valverde has of course taken its place front and centre back in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after the 26-year-old was left out of Real Madrid’s squad once more.

After sitting out against both Girona and Real Sociedad over the last week owing to ongoing fitness problems, the hope was that Valverde would be given the green light to return to the fray on Saturday.

Los Blancos are primed to return to action tomorrow evening, in a La Liga meeting with Real Betis.

Valverde, however, was not afforded a call-up for the trip to Seville.

Speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference this afternoon, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his engine room standout’s wellbeing was put to boss Carlo Ancelotti.

And Real’s headmaster went on to explain:

“Fede Valverde will not play tomorrow. He has had a small problem. He will return vs Atlético (in the Champions League).”
