Scorers: Mbappé 10, Valverde 20', Rodrygo 34', Diaz 53' ; Romero 35', Lukebakio 86'
Real Madrid moved to within a point of LaLiga leaders Atlético with a 4-2 win over Sevilla in the capital.
It took just 10 minutes for Carlo Ancelotti's side to hit the front as Kylian Mbappé fired them ahead from outside the penalty area, before Federico Valverde struck from even further out to double their advantage after just 20 minutes.
It seemed that Rodrygo had sewn up the three points 10 minutes before half time when he added a third for the hosts, but Isaac Romero pulled one back for Sevilla just moments later.
After half time, Romero again went close, but the win was all but sealed for good as Brahim Diaz ensured that all three of Real Madrid's front three got on the scoresheet, firing home after being teed up by Mbappé.
There was a touching moment just after the hour mark, as Jesús Navas was introduced for his final ever appearance after announcing his retirement.
He almost made an instant impact as his backheel saw Romero hit the post, and with the game drifting to a conclusion Sevilla pulled a second goal back through Dodi Lukebakio, but it proved too little, too late.
