Real Madrid are ushering in some major changes heading into the new season, with Xabi Alonso taking over the reins as manager today.
There will be tweaks in the squad as well, with the likes of Luka Modric, Lucas Vazquez, and Jesus Vallejo set to leave upon the expiry of their contracts while other players could also move on in the coming weeks.
One such player staring at an uncertain future is goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
Indeed, according to MARCA, Lunin’s continuity at Real Madrid heading into the new season is far from guaranteed.
As per the report, the 26-year-old Ukrainian international wishes to stay put at the Santiago Bernabeu despite being the backup choice to Thibaut Courtois in goal.

However, his agent, Jorge Mendes, has been exploring offers and opportunities from clubs across Europe for the shot-stopper in case a departure is what all parties seek.
In fact, the report states that Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray are showing the strongest interest in signing Lunin at this point.
However, there have been no concrete moves from their part while Real Madrid have also made no movements to reinforce the goalkeeping department either.
So, it remains to be seen how things evolve with Lunin, who signed a new contract with the Merengues only last year, committing himself to the club until 2030.
In case of a possible departure, Real Madrid see RCD Espanyol hero Joan Garcia as a potential replacement, although Barcelona too are interested in the Spaniard.
