Real Betis are desperate to secure Manchester United winger Antony’s services for the next season and have sent officials to Manchester to try and seal a deal.
The Brazilian struggled for game time at Old Trafford in the first part of the season and was sent on loan to the Spanish club in January.
Antony was a revelation in Spain, helping his side secure Europa League qualification and reach the final of the Conference League.
He provided nine goals and five assists during his months in Spain and numerous clubs have been impressed by his displays.
Consequently, Betis are reportedly “ready to fight until the end” to secure the services of the Brazil international.
What’s more, United have reduced their asking price for Antony to £21-25 million to push through a deal this summer.
Spanish paper ABC Sevilla now report that “Real Betis continues to make progress in trying to keep Antony in their shirt” for next season.
It is stated that “Betis representatives travelled to Manchester yesterday to meet with United and discuss Antony’s future.”
This is described as “a new step forward” in the process and that the securing of Antony is an “important matter” for the forthcoming season.
According to the outlet, Antony’s agents had already visited Seville last week to flesh out salary numbers for a deal at the Andalucian club.
It is thought that Betis are trying to secure a loan deal that could also have an option or obligation to buy at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Antony has a contract until 2027 and it has been said that Betis will not match United’s asking price of £40 million. Therefore, the meeting will have been crucial in trying to reach some common ground on a potential fee.
