RB Leipzig have provided an update on their squad ahead of their fixture this weekend against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga after suffering with numerous injuries throughout the past few weeks.

On Tuesday, Leipzig suffered a 3-1 loss against Celtic in the Champions League, meaning that they have now lost all four of their matches in Europe so far and now sit in 32nd place in the table out of 36 teams.

During the game, both Lustharel Geetruida and Benjamin Henrichs has to be substituted due to picking up injuries.

Leipzig have stated that Geetruida will miss the game against Gladbach and Henrichs picked up a knock in his calf and is therefore a doubt.

Defender Lukas Klostermann was only able to make the bench against Celtic as he was suffering with problems in his knee however he should now be fit and ready to play at the weekend.

Castello Lukeba won’t be able to make his return to the team this week, after missing the last two matches.

Updates have also been provided on the longer term injuries within the squad.

Xavi Simons is now already on the road to recovery following his procedure for his ankle injury.

David Raum has undergone a successful operation after suffering with an ankle ligament injury but will still be unavailable for a while.

Finally Xaver Schlager is currently undergoing rehabilitation after picking up an ACL injury back in May and is now making good progress with his recovery.

The situation is far from ideal for Marco Rose as his side made a flying start in the Bundesliga by going matches unbeaten before losing against Borussia Dortmund last week but they now face a difficult challenge as they look to pick up their form in the Champions League and try not to slip further away from the top of the Bundesliga table with their weakened squad.
