Rayo Vallecano forward Sergio Camello has acknowledged the incredible impact that Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has had in his short time at the club.
Bellingham’s performances have not only impressed fans but also earned admiration from rivals like Camello, who spoke highly of the midfielder’s contributions ahead of Vallecano’s home match against Real Madrid.
When asked to pick between three of football’s biggest stars—Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and Jude Bellingham—Camello did not hesitate to express his preference for the Englishman.
According to him, Bellingham’s ability to adapt so quickly to the demands of playing for a club like Real Madrid, especially at such a young age, has been remarkable.
“I love Bellingham. It is difficult to arrive at Madrid and do it like he did, with how young he is. The elegance with which he plays amazes me,” he told AS.

Real Madrid’s season has been marred by injuries to key players, yet Camello insists that his side cannot afford to relax or underestimate their opponents.
He emphasised the need for Vallecano to approach the match as if Real Madrid were at full strength, recognising the formidable challenge the visiting side poses.
Camello also pointed out that Vallecano’s recent history at home against Real Madrid has given them the confidence to believe in their ability to compete, making it clear that they will aim to make the match as challenging as possible for the visitors.
“Are Madrid weaker with injuries? Thinking about that would be confusing ourselves. We have to go out as if Mbappe was there. We have good experiences against them in Vallecas and they know it will be an uncomfortable match.”

Vallecano’s home ground, Vallecas, is considered a fortress by the team and its supporters.
Camello highlighted how the passionate support of the fans can provide a crucial boost, especially during moments when the players are physically drained.
The atmosphere at Vallecas often gives the team an edge, making it a place that even the biggest clubs find difficult to visit.
“The fans are a very important part. When you need legs, because you’re already tired, Vallecas gives them to you. We know that it is a fortress and the big ones have a lot of respect for us, because we have earned it,” he noted.
Lastly, while reflecting on the difference between Real Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, Camello pointed out the prestige and historical success that Real Madrid commands.
However, he was determined to focus on his team’s strengths, aiming to ensure that Vallecas remains a difficult venue for the 14-time European champions.
“Prestige, because it is one of the best teams in history. That respect with which you look at him can sometimes play tricks on you. We will try to become strong and make Vallecas a place that they do not like to visit,” he said.
