Hojlund says he will fight for his place at Old Trafford even if United sign Sesko
Rasmus Hojlund has warned Manchester United target Benjamin Sesko he plans to “stay and fight” for his spot in the starting XI.
United struggled for goals last season and their recruitment team are in the process of exploring striker options this summer.
The club have made contact with RB Leipzig over the possibility of signing the £70million-rated Slovenia striker Benjamin Sesko, with Hojlund having scored only four goals in 32 Premier League appearances last season.
Hojlund did score in United’s 4-1 win over Bournemouth in Wednesday’s pre-season friendly in Chicago.

Now he has sent a punchy message to warn Sesko that he has no plans to give up the fight to remain the Red Devils’ first-choice centre-forward heading into the 2025-26 season.
“I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot whatever happens,” the Danish international told reporters after the Bournemouth win.
“I am still very young. I think people sometimes forget that.
“I am only 22 years old. I have learned a lot, and I think that shows in my game. I have done very well so far during the pre-season.”
United head coach Ruben Amorim was supportive of Hojlund and praised the Dane for his work ethic and application.
“I’m really happy with Rasmus, but I don't know what is going to happen until the end of the market,” Amorim said.
“The important thing is that the strikers who are here are working really well, they are improving, they are helping the team and that’s the most important thing.
“The important thing is that Rasmus is scoring goals. He's connecting really well with the team. He's improving.
“Again, I don't know what is going to happen until the market is closed. We suffered a lot because of the lack of goals last season.”
Amorim added: “But I think not just the goals, but the way Rasmus connects the play.
“Every time we have to kick the ball, we are kicking the ball when we are more pressed. The ability for him to hold the defender and to connect in the support is helping us to play a lot better and we are playing better because he’s playing better.”
