Roma manager Claudio Ranieri reacted to the team’s win over Milan in the penultimate Serie A match of the season.
After the 3-1 victory at the Olimpico, the Giallorossi head coach told DAZN, “I’m still on adrenaline! It’s nice to be appreciated by your people. We started off in a difficult way, but we never fell apart. We worked as a team; I thank my players for this, it wasn’t easy in that situation. I’m happy for them, for the fans, for the president.”
“I worked for these emotions, negative and positive. The positive ones are more pleasant,” he added.
“I said it: these guys have been following me since day one, they knew what personality I have. I told them to help me, then I asked for the public’s help and I gave them confidence.”
“My morale was at rock bottom and little by little we got back up. We played hard in Naples too, as well as in London… These are the things I like. I always asked them to fight until the end, to leave the pitch with the knowledge that they had given their all. In this way, I can just accept the response of the pitch. Little by little we strung together those 19 useful results.”
“Champions League? I only believe in hard work. We shouldn’t concern ourselves with others. There is always another game, another philosophy, we must be ready. I know that we will go to Turin against a compact and lively team, to try to play our game. Then, in the end, we will see what we have managed to do. It ain’t over until it’s over.”
