Claudio Ranieri’s agent reveals the coach has a two-year contract as senior technical manager at Roma, as the Friedkins moved from ‘the Special One to the Normal One.’
The 73-year-old was called out of retirement to help salvage his beloved Giallorossi, who are already on their fourth coach of the calendar year.
He signed on until the end of the season, but will remain with a different role behind the scenes after that.
“Ranieri also has a two-year contract as senior technical manager,” revealed agent Pietro Chiodi in the Corriere dello Sport.
“He will be a consultant of the owners for all the sporting issues at the club.”

Ranieri and Chiodi flew to London for a face-to-face meeting with Dan Friedkin before accepting the caretaker role.
The representative couldn’t help making a joke about the relative lack of drama he hopes to bring compared to predecessors like Jose Mourinho.
“We were talking for hours, Claudio explained his point of view. Everyone was just waiting for the normality of Claudio, they went from the Special One to the Normal One.
“The Friedkins didn’t tell us when they will be back in Italy, but we had the clear sensation they want to do great things for Roma. There was immediately great sincerity between Claudio and the President.”
Chiodi insists it was not a complicated negotiation process to work out the terms of the contract.
“When everyone gets up from the negotiating table satisfied, then I have achieved my objective as an agent. I was really impressed with the rapport Dan Friedkin has with his children, he kept asking for their opinion on things and everyone was very respectful with Claudio.”
Ranieri makes his ‘debut’ – in the third different career stint – on the Roma bench this weekend against Antonio Conte’s Napoli.
