Rangers agree £5.5M deal with Leeds for Glen Kamara | OneFootball

Glen Kamara’s long-awaited exit from Rangers is nearly here after a £5.5M deal was agreed with Championship side Leeds to finally, at long last end the most difficult relationship Rangers have had with a player for some considerable time.

Rangers finally agreed an excellent fee with the Elland Road giants, with the promotion hopefuls believing they can kick-start Kamara’s career in football again, with the midfielder envisioning himself in the Premier League next season.

The fee at £5.5M is an outstanding number in light of a player who hasn’t wanted to be at Ibrox for a considerable amount of time, with the former Dundee man notably downing tools at least 12 months ago, and making it clear to new manager Michael Beale that he intended to leave this summer.

And Leeds are to secure him, with Daniel Farke considering the ex-Arsenal kid a major sleeping giant of football whose eye was off the ball for a long time at Rangers, with the German ex-Norwich boss believing Leeds can have the same impact on Kamara’s career as Rangers did on star man Todd Cantwell’s.

It isn’t official just yet, but it’s getting close – Rangers quite simply held on for the fee they wanted – rather than let him go for a modest £3M or suchlike, Rangers valued the boy at around the £5M mark and Leeds have caved to that number and given £5.5M.

Kamara just needs to sign/agree on the dotted line and pass his medical, and the deal will be done.

He remains annoyed Rangers didn’t accept the £10M Nice agreed, which, in fairness, we are too, and he became very huffy at losing his two best Rangers friends in Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey.

All of this does not a happy player make, and now at last it appears Kamara (and Rangers) are to get their wish and the deal is done to remove him permanently from Ibrox and take him south.
