West Ham are set to ramp up the pursuit of Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

The highly-rated Danish international, who is also understood to be a player of interest of Chelsea, is seen as the number one target for Graham Potter this summer, with it likely that he’ll be in contention to displace Areola as the clubs preferred goalkeeper.

Hermansen is regarded by Potter as a player who can operate in a way that the former Brighton boss wants to see his team play next season, with a desire to produce a younger, faster and more attack-minded style for fans to get behind.

At present, the pursuit of Hermansen is in the works, however attention at present is for the club to seal the signing of Senegal international El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague, with an agreement for the player possibly being made later today.

West Ham accept that others are also eyeing Hermansen, however there is hope that the talented goalkeeper will be excited by the project at West Ham, where he is likely to step in as the clubs new number one.
