Kieran Tierney made his competitive return to action for Celtic yesterday in the Flag Day win over St Mirren. The 28-year-old started at leftback as Luke McCowan’s strike delivered the three points to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Speaking ahead of Hearts vs Aberdeen this evening, the Sky Sports pundits discussed whether KT could play in the inverted role vacated by Greg Taylor.

The likelihood is that Tierney will be able to come into the midfield but be able to go beyond Daizen Maeda down the left.

Taylor was an excellent servant for Celtic, playing in an inverted position under Ange, which continued under Brendan. The fullback was excellent but occasionally targeted in European football. Celtic wanted to keep the player but allowed him to decide on his own future. Taylor decided to switch to PAOK rather than remaining as an understudy to KT.

Tierney was replaced around the hour mark after going down with what was later revealed to be cramp. The Scotland defender will be looking to build up his fitness; although, the manager revealed that his workload will be managed to ensure that there are no injuries.
