Kylian Mbappé (25), in his final season in Ligue 1 before his departure from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, finished top scorer in France’s top flight with 27 goals.
The France captain has dominated the scoring charts since joining PSG, finishing as Ligue 1’s top scorer in six consecutive seasons. He won outright on all occasions, bar in the 2019/20 season when he shared the accolade with AS Monaco’s Wissam Ben Yedder.
Mbappé began the season on the outside looking in. He sat in the stands, ostracised from the first team as Les Parisiens drew to FC Lorient on the opening day of the season. However, since his re-integration, he has been rampant, netting his 27 goals in just 29 games.
He has only completed a full 90 minutes on three occasions in the league since mid-February when he informed PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his upcoming departure, however, no rival could get close to him. Lille OSC’s Jonathan David and Olympique Lyonnais’ Alexandre Lacazette, both of whom scored 19 goals, came closest to challenging Mbappé’s supremacy.
