Paris Saint-Germain defeated Inter Miami 4-0 in the Club World Cup last-16 on Sunday to book their place in the quarter-finals.
The Champions League winners were the favourites to win the game, but Miami had a ray of hope that Lionel Messi would conjure up some magic against his former side.
However, it turned out to be a painful outing for the Major League Soccer club, who were completely outclassed by the French champions.
Joao Neves opened the scoring within six minutes after sneaking past Miami’s defence to net his header.
Miami could not cope with PSG’s intense pressing and were rightfully punished when Neves scored his second goal in the 39th minute.
Things went from bad to worse for the Herons when young Argentine defender Tomas Aviles gifted an own goal minutes later.
PSG put the game to bed just before half-time, with Achraf Hakimi joining the goal fest.
Vitinha continued his excellent form by producing another midfield masterclass.
He pulled the strings in midfield, creating four chances, threading 38 passes into the final third and winning two duels and two interceptions.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was also unstoppable on the flanks as his obliterating pace and dribbling proved too much for Miami’s defenders.
After the blip against Botafogo, Luis Enrique’s side have bounced back with consecutive victories.
Fresh off achieving a treble, PSG are looking to extend their dream run by adding the Club World Cup to their cabinet.
They will face either Bayern Munich or Flamengo in the quarter-finals.
