The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) disciplinary committee has sanctioned Paris Saint-Germain with a partial stadium closure following reports of homophobic chanting at the Parc des Princes during the match against RC Strasbourg Alsace on the 19th of October.
Some supporters had targeted rivals Olympique de Marseille and former player Adrien Rabiot (29) who had signed with Les Phocéens in September with homophobic chants. Despite efforts from the club speaker to stop the chants, they were repeated throughout the game and after the final whistle.
As a result, the Auteli stand will be partially closed from November 5th, meaning that the LFP’s decision will not impact the upcoming game against RC Lens on the 2nd of November. However, the match against Toulouse FC on the 22nd of November will be affected.
PSG received a similar punishment in September 2023. The Auteli stand was closed for one game, while Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, Randal Kolo Muani, and Layvin Kurzawa were provided with a suspended one-match ban.
