Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to replace Kylian Mbappé’s production when the Frenchman departs for Real Madrid in a few weeks. One of the names in the rumor mill is Crystal Palace standout Michael Olise.

After his move from Reading to Crystal Palace in 2021, Olise has really thrived, becoming one of the Premier League’s standout players. This season, he’s been phenomenal, racking up 10 goals and five assists in just 18 games.

Olise has established himself as one of the league’s brightest young talents, but his performance wasn’t quite enough to secure a spot on the French national team for UEFA Euro 2024.

Nonetheless, if PSG does feel as though Olise is the player they want to integrate into their attack for next season, they have to pursue the player this summer. Should the Parisians decide to pursue the player down the road, CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson believes it will cost the Ligue 1 side even more money.

“I think he’s a player who is going to be looked at by a number of clubs this summer,” Johnson told PSG Talk in an exclusive interview. “I think for me, I still see the jump a little too big at this moment in time to go from Palace to PSG, certainly as a replacement for Mbappé…

“So for me, I think he is potentially a realistic signing for PSG, but I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily the smartest one. But equally, it’s a player who must be scouted thoroughly because wherever he goes next, especially if he stays in the Premier League, it’s going to cost PSG a lot more money if he continues to develop and grow as many people expect.”
