Under the leadership of Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain have made some excellent investments including the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue.

There has been strong emphasis on signing young talents as well and to that end, PSG could be on the verge of making yet another coup by bringing in Argentine prodigy Franco Mastantuono – a target for Real Madrid.

Mastantuono closing in on PSG move

According to journalist German Garcia Grova, PSG are inching closer in the deal to sign Mastantuono, who is widely expected to leave River Plate this summer.

The report adds that PSG have made crucial progress in their pursuit. Their plan now is to soon finalise the deal to sign the Argentine ace.

This could serve as a massive blow for Real Madrid, who were the other party interested in the services of Mastantuono.

An attacking midfielder by trade, the River Plate star is considered one of the most talented up and coming footballers in his native Argentine, having already made quite the breakthrough in his home country.

Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Mastantuono for the longest time. But the report suggests Los Blancos have yet to make a move for the player.

There have been no official contact between Real Madrid and River Plate. Although the club have had talks with the player, it hasn’t translated into any concrete interest.

For the time being, Real Madrid are more focused on shoring up their midfield options, having been linked with a move for a plethora of stars including Alexis Mac Allister and Enzo Fernandez.

However, the club are ideally looking for a cost-effective option in the market, which could potentially add more fuel to Angelo Stiller speculations.
