Paris Saint-Germain and the relationship with its all-time leading goal scorer, Kylian Mbappé, continues to sour.

On Monday, the 25-year-old forward tweeted about “fake news” being spread in the Swedish press, which was then picked up by some French media. Mbappé wasn’t called up for the UEFA Nations League matches against Israel and Belgium this FIFA international window in October.

However, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has faced further criticism after reports emerged that he had been spotted in a nightclub in Sweden on the night France secured a UEFA Nations League win over Israel.

The Frenchman took a subtitle jab at his former club and pointed out that it happened “just before a hearing, conveniently enough.”

PSG and the player are set to appear before the LFP’s appeal committee on Tuesday to address their ongoing dispute. L’Equipe reported the remarks made by the capital club in response to this accusation that their former player has made.

“Honestly, it’s a disgrace,” an official club chief told the French media outlet. People are outraged in the club’s corridors, wondering if PSG’s former striker will soon accuse the club of some setbacks at Real Madrid or with the French national team.

For the official response, however, the club simply adds: “We will ignore it and maintain our class.”
