Inter would be willing to sell wantaway defender Milan Skriniar before the end of the January transfer window, but Paris Saint-Germain are reluctant to meet their asking price.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri feel that moving the Slovakia international on now may be beneficial for the team, given that he has rejected a new contract and is ready to join PSG when his current deal expires in the summer.

There is a fear that Skriniar’s continued presence until the end of the season could cause tensions and bring unnecessary scrutiny, so Inter would be ready to cash in on him this month rather than keep him for the remainder of the campaign.

The Nerazzurri are only willing to part with him for €20 million though, and this figure is beyond what PSG would be ready to commit to.

Indeed, the French club have already reserved much of their transfer budget for this window to bringing in an attacker, whilst Skriniar would need to forego a €20m signing-on bonus due to him in the summer.

PSG would only be able to provide this in the event of not paying a transfer fee, and it is felt that this bonus had made the difference in convincing Skriniar to reject Inter and agree to a move to Ligue 1.
