Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are working toward a solution regarding the transfer of Manuel Ugarte. The 23-year-old could be on the verge of heading to Old Trafford in these last few days of the summer transfer window.

Sky Sports News’ Dharmesh Sheth reported on Wednesday that the two sides prefer a permanent move, but a loan with an obligation to buy is also being considered.

Moreover, The Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler also revealed on Wednesday that the Premier League side was presented with the opportunity to sign Ugarte on loan with an obligation to buy for £51 million.

The latest information comes from Le Parisien’s Benjamin Quarez and Marc Mechenoua, who report that PSG and Manchester United are close to reaching an agreement to sign Ugarte for about €60 million.

While some details remain to be finalized, all parties involved are confident the deal will be completed before the transfer window closes.

Ugarte made 37 total appearances for the reigning Ligue 1 champions last season, recording three assists. The former Sporting Lisbon standout began the first half of the campaign in impressive fashion, but his minutes fell off in the second half of the season as he was used more as a rotational player rather than a starter.
