Achraf Hakimi could soon appear before the courts over a rape case.

The story dates back more than two years now. In February 2023, Achraf Hakimi, then 24 years old, was accused of rape by a young woman. After she reported the incident to the police, the player was placed under formal investigation a few days later and released under judicial supervision following police custody.

Since then, the investigation and judicial process seemed to have buried the case. However, it has resurfaced this summer. According to information from Le Parisien, the Nanterre prosecutor's office has just requested that the PSG player be indicted before the departmental criminal court of Hauts-de-Seine to stand trial for rape.

The right-back has always denied the allegations, but it is now up to the investigating judge to confirm or reject the prosecution's indictment. If the case goes to trial and he is convicted, Hakimi faces up to 15 years in prison.
