The Premier League 2025-2026 kicked off at full throttle with a thrilling Liverpool victory over Bournemouth (4-2) on Friday night at Anfield.
Mohamed Salah, one of the greatest scorers in English football history, struck once again, netting the fourth goal to seal the win for his side. He’s off to a flying start this season as he chases the all-time single-season goal record.
That record currently belongs to Erling Haaland. The Manchester City striker scored 36 goals in 35 matches during the 2022-2023 season.
The Norwegian is closely followed by Andy Cole, who pulled off the remarkable feat of scoring 34 goals in 40 matches for Newcastle in 1993-1994.
As for the Egyptian King, he racked up 32 goals in 36 games for the Reds during the 2017-2018 campaign.
Here are the top 5 single-season scoring records:
1 – Erling Haaland (Manchester City – 36 goals in 2022-2023)
2 – Andy Cole (Newcastle – 34 goals in 1993-1994)
