A recent report from SPORT confirms that signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is becoming more realistic for Barcelona.

The club have made it clear they need a left-winger, and after Nico Williams turned them down, their attention is now on Luis Diaz and Rashford.

But getting Diaz won’t be easy, since he is a key player at Liverpool and they don’t want to let him go.

His transfer fee could reach around €90 million, nearly twice what Rashford would cost. Because of this, Rashford looks like a more affordable and practical option for Barça.

Not wanted at Man United

Rashford’s situation at Manchester United has also made things easier for Barcelona. It is clear that Ruben Amorim does not want him in the squad anymore.

Rashford has been told he won’t join pre-season training with his teammates, and his iconic number ‘10’ shirt has already been given to Matheus Cunha. These clear signs show that United are keen to offload him.

Rashford has a contract with Manchester United until 2028. However, United want to sell him, and the price is likely to be set around €40 million.

For a 27-year-old forward with his talent, this is a good opportunity for Barcelona to strengthen their attack without breaking the bank.

Barcelona’s priority is Luis Diaz

Even though Rashford is an attractive option, Barcelona’s main target remains Luis Diaz and they will first explore ways to sign the Colombian winger.

Rashford, meanwhile, will have to wait patiently as Barça try to work out a deal. The good news for the club is that, unlike Nico, both Diaz and Rashford actually want to join Barcelona and are not just using interest from the Catalans to get better salaries elsewhere.

More developments are expected this week as talks continue. After Nico closed the door on Friday, Barcelona will now push ahead with discussions for either Diaz or Rashford, aiming to secure their next big summer signing.
