Manchester City have received strong representation among the Premier League’s end-of-season awards, with a total of three names up for respective prizes.

The reigning English top-flight champions have the opportunity to retain their crown for the second consecutive season on Sunday afternoon with a win over Chelsea – an accolade that would also be the fifth in the last six years for the Etihad club.

Following yet another stellar season for Manchester City and all those concerned with the operation, the Premier League have recognised their performances by nominating a number of key names for their end-of-season awards.


Manager Pep Guardiola has been put forward for the Premier League’s 2022/23 Manager of the Season, after coaching his side to within touching distance of his fifth English top-flight title since joining the club in the summer of 2016.

Prior to the weekend’s clash against Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City have won 27 matches this season, including a double over title challengers Arsenal, scoring 92 goals in the process and conceding just 31 – putting them on 85 points.

Moving on to the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season award, and Manchester City once again have representation in the category, with Norwegian goalscoring sensation Erling Haaland nominated for the prize.

The 22 year-old has notched a staggering 36 goals and seven assists in 33 Premier League appearances so far this season, breaking a number of records along the way – including the title for the most goals scored in a single campaign.

Manchester City close off their collection of nominees with a further two names included among the list for the Premier League’s Player of the Season – competing alongside stars from Manchester United and Arsenal.

Once again, Erling Haaland is nominated as the Norway international stands alongside Kevin De Bruyne on the shortlist – who has seven goals and an outstanding 18 assists to his name following 30 appearances in the English top-flight.
