Manchester United get their Europa League campaign underway when they welcome FC Twente to Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

After a slow start to the season and a disastrous Champions League campaign in 2023/24 last term, it will be important for Erik ten Hag and his side to get the new European season off to a positive start.

United are facing Ten Hag’s former club, FC Twente, who are his boyhood club. That means there will be plenty of emotion around the fixture but we can’t let that take control of the fixture.

Ten Hag will be unable to call upon Leny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Victor Lindelof.

However, the manager can bring Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund back into the side after both were benched for the scoreless draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Hojlund has just returned from injury, while Ten Hag is rotating his minutes to ensure he can keep everyone fit for the upcoming fixtures.

Twente haven’t got as many absentees with Younes Taha being the only played confirmed to be out for the trip to Old Trafford.
