Arne Slot’s Liverpool will return to action on Sunday when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
Liverpool played out a 2-2 draw with Fulham at Anfield in the Premier League last weekend and beat Southampton 2-1 away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.
The Reds are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 36 points from 15 matches and will fancy their chances of picking up all three points against Tottenham, who are aiming for the top four.
Liverpool manager Slot is very likely to make a number of changes to the team that beat Southampton in midweek.
Caoimhin Kelleher was in goal against the Saints, but it is very likely that Brazil international Alisson will return in goal for the Merseyside club. After all, Alisson is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Reds.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Konstantinos Tsimikas will be the four defenders. Gomez started at left-back against Southampton, but he is very likely to slot into central defence alongside Van Dijk against Spurs. Tsimikas replaced Gomez at left-back at half-time against the Saints.
Slot is likely to make changes to his midfield-three as well. Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai will return to the starting line-up and will have Alexis Mac Allister alongside them in the middle of the park.
Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo could be the three forwards. Harvey Elliott will drop out to make space for Salah, who has scored 13 goals and given nine assists in 15 Premier League matches and has found the back of the net twice and has provided four assists in six UEFA Champions League games for Liverpool this season.
Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Nunez
